Home Made Power Plant – Not What We Expected?

At first glance we thought we would be in for a struggle, but once we started reading Home Made Power Plant, the information was solid. DIY fanatics will love this guide – you will definitely learn as you go along, since customer support may be quick, but it is not very helpful.

1: Great illustrations:

Home Made Power Plant had by far the best diagrams. They were well-labeled for the solar plans, easy to follow, colorful, and mostly to scale. And most importantly they were large enough to see what was going on in them.

2: Nice Freebies

The information on the maintaining the systems, and getting the legal aspects of the systems sorted out was comprehensive and useful. We particularly liked the strategies of saving power – they were so simple, yet most of us overlook them. And the best part is, these tips have already helped us save hundreds of dollars over the past 4 months.

3: Increases the market value of your home:

What we liked most about Home Made Power Plant, and all the other diy energy guides, is that the systems added value to our home. We thought this was a myth, until we tried it for ourselves. What we did was get a valuation done before and after the system were installed. We were incredibly impressed with results! With only 2 home solar power and wind turbine systems, our house had increased in value by over $5500. They thought we had had the systems professionally installed – but we did not tell them the truth :)

Problems with the guide:

1 – Miscommunication with customer support

We were not very impressed with customer support. We were not sure about the right way to wire up our solar panels to the house. So we decided to contact customer support. But when they replied all they said was, “Read over the chapter in wiring again. It is all there.” But what they did not understand was that our circumstances were different to what was outlined in the guide. Luckily we had experience in diy projects, so we managed to figure it out on our own.

Conclusion:

With fantastic illustrations, and the great bonus information, the Home Made Power Plant guide was well authored and easy enough the average person to grasp. The plans were relatively easy to follow, and other than the issue we had with customer support, they were quick to respond.
